As part of the official program for the Laserlab-Europe AISBL Annual Meeting 2025, the Lasers4EU Workshop on Standardised Performance Assessment was held on 12 May in Didcot, UK.
Led by Antonio Pifferi (POLIMI), the workshop brought together experienced members of the consortium who shared their expertise, know-how, and best practices, while also highlighting the challenges involved in developing common protocols for standardised performance assessment.
The main objective was to identify areas where standard protocols could be implemented. Participants explored exemplary cases of performance assessment and discussed the feasibility of establishing protocols—for example in fields such as diffuse optics and ultrafast pulses.
The workshop concluded with a focus on next steps, including the development of a survey on standardisation procedures already in place and planning for upcoming meetings.
