Title: Frequency-comb interferometry
Speaker: Nathalie Picqué (Max Born Institute Berlin)
Date: Wednesday, 1 July 2026, 16:00 Central European Summer Time (CEST)
Optical frequency combs, generated by mode-locked femtosecond lasers, have made it possible to count the frequency of light. They now enable powerful techniques such as dual-comb interferometry. These motion-free interferometers use two combs with slightly different line spacings to achieve exceptional accuracy, speed and resolution. They enable compact integrated photonic devices and advanced applications in spectroscopy, sensing and imaging.
