2025 Call
Lasers4EU: Call for proposals for staff exchanges
Lasers4EU invites technical and scientific staff to submit proposals for consortium-internal staff exchanges, an activity organised within the Work Package 4 “Cross-facility services”. All members of the Lasers4EU consortium (access providing partners or partners affiliated to Laserlab-Europe AISBL and ELI ERIC) are eligible to apply.
Objective: to improve services offered to users as a result of scientific and technical staff training.
Aims of the short-term training visits:
-
-
- increasing individual “hands-on” experience and improving experimental skills and competences,
- assuring that facility operators and technicians are trained at the highest possible level through sharing of expertise, procedures and knowledge.
-
Implementation:
- Scientists or technicians submit a brief proposal to the Internal Project Panel via the email address calls@lasers4.eu.
- The proposal should be short and concise, typically one page. Click here to download the application form.
- The maximum duration of a staff exchange is 2 weeks.
- Accepted staff exchanges should take place within 12 months of approval.
- Financial support for approved proposals will cover the travel and subsistence expenses of the visiting scientists or technicians.
- Following the exchange, a short report should be submitted to the Coordinator’s office. Click here to download the report form.
- Deadline for applications: 5 January 2025
Criteria for evaluation:
- Relevance of the objectives of the exchange and the needs of the sending facility in view of the objectives listed above;
- Appropriateness of the approach and of the host in relation to the objectives of the exchange;
- Qualification of the staff to be exchanged.
General guidelines:
Please, note that there are two distinct networking activities for intra-consortium exchanges:
- Staff exchanges, as addressed by the present call, are targeting scientific and technical training, exchange of know-how and pooling of best practices. The call is addressing primarily technical staff.
- Joint experiments have a clear scientific mission and possibly lead to publications. Proposals for such experiments can be submitted at any time and should follow the usual access proposal procedure through the proposal management system. In the application form “Joint Experiment” should be marked.
