Criteria of eligibility

Lasers4EU and its participating institutions accept users within the Transnational Access Activity of the EC Horizon Europe research and innovation programme. http://ec.europa.eu/research/infrastructures/

The Transnational Access Programme poses certain restrictions upon the eligibility of users, based on nationalities of group members and location of their home institutions. These restrictions are also subject to the Contract between the Lasers4EU Consortium and the EU, and are mandatory to all parties involved. The main criteria for eligibility are outlined below. Additional information can be obtained directly from the EU website indicated above or from info@lasers4.eu.

The ultimate decision about acceptance of users or user groups lies with the respective Lasers4EU authorities, taking into account the eligibility conditions of the Programme and the scientific review and selection process which, in turn, is based on the scientific quality of the proposed research and the available resources.

Who is eligible?

‘User groups’ from any country worldwide are eligible to benefit from access to the infrastructure under the EC contract, if they fulfil the following conditions:

• both the user group leader and the majority of the users must work in a country other than the country(ies) where the installation is located;
• only user groups that are allowed to publish the results of their project in the open press may benefit from the access, unless the users are working for SMEs.

User groups from any country worldwide are eligible to benefit from EC-funded access.

In addition, Lasers4EU will not consider as eligible the proposals which are submitted by an applicant affiliated to one of the Lasers4EU Access providing Infrastructures (API). Scientists affiliated to one of these APIs are not regarded as Lasers4EU users if they participate in Access projects. They can thus not ask for reimbursement from the Transnational Access Programme of their travel and subsistence expenses.
